Novato Cassette Tape (Letraset: 2/3)

"Inspired by a trip up north, to The Marin Highlands Park, and the surrounding neighborhood" — a note from the tape. This is the second in a three series run of my Letraset series of cassette tapes. Instead of using rub on lettering, I used a yellow Letraset marker, to mark the edition numbers. There is nothing exciting about Hamilton Field... I just enjoy exploring the mundane. The photos were shot on B/W film. There isn't a gradient effect on the front facing photo, it's a bad roll of film which ended up looking interesting. Instead of a catalog number on the spine and the track listing on the third panel, I chose to use the area and zip codes (respectfully). I want to make a series of cassette tapes based on locations. There is a military base in Hamilton Field, which was shut down a while ago. I wanted to represent said military base in a "ghastly" way, which is why I treated the type in a transparent/blended way. The illustration on the bottom right is of a California Poppy, which I may reuse for other California based tapes. The music itself is very experimental and is based on improvisation and hardware instruments. I went out from my guitar, synth, and sampler to cassette tape. The only time a computer was used, was to upload the audio online. Scroll down to listen, and click the buy link to purchase a digital or physical copy.
